Education briefs: Recycling Scholarship $1000 winners announced - East Valley Tribune
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality announced the winners of nine $1,000 scholarships from the Recycling Scholarship Program.
The East Valley winners are:
• Nashonna Frank, Westwood High School, Mesa;
• Meghan Morris, Hamilton High School, Chandler; and
• Melissa Rankin, Red Mountain High School, Mesa.
Each student will receive the scholarship to be used at an Arizona college or university. The recipients were selected based on proposals they submitted designing a waste reduction or recycling project in their school or community to be put in place in April.
The scholarship program is funded by the ADEQ Recycling Grant Program. Information is available at: www.azdeq.gov/environ/waste/solid/program.html .

AIMS week starts Tuesday
AIMS tests will be given each school morning, Tuesday through April 7. The district asks that parents be sure children are at school on time.
